The Department of Pathogenic Biology of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Shandong University was established in 2016, which was combined by the former Department of Microbiology and Department of Parasitology of the School of Medicine of Shandong University. The Department of Pathogenic Biology includes teaching groups of Medical Microbiology and Human Parasitology. It is the key subject of Pathogenic Biology and the key laboratory of infection and immunity of Shandong Province. At present, there are 22 in-service faculty members, including 6 professors and 8 associate professors. Among them, 19 teachers have got doctoral degree and 18 teachers have oversea studying experience. There are national teaching master, national excellent courses and editor-in-chief for more than 10 textbooks in the Department. The research of the Department focuses on "infection-immunity-inflammation-disease" main line and molecular parasitology. In recent years, we have completed dozens of national and provincial scientific research projects and published high quality SCI papers.

The Department of Pathogenic Biology welcomes domestic and international scholars to join in and to have acedemic communication and cooperation, therefore promoting the development of the medical sciences in our country.
