Professor Lining Zhang's Research Paper was Published in Cell Death & Differentiation
November 4, 2020

Recently, the latest research achievement Programmed cell death 4 modulates lysosomal function by inhibiting TFEB translation by Professor Lining Zhang was published online on Cell Death & Differentiation (JCR journal area 1, Chinese Academy of Sciences, latest if: 10.717, five years if: 9.597). The first author of this paper is Xiaotong Chen, doctoral student, Department of Immunology. The corresponding authors are Professor Lining Zhang, Yan Li, and Faliang Zhu. Shandong University is the first author unit and corresponding author unit.

This research revealed the regulatory mechanism of TFEB at the protein translation level for the first time and provided an important theoretical basis for clarifying the regulatory network of TFEB and lysosome. It is the first time that PDCD4 gene knockout can inhibit the M2 polarization of tumor-associated macrophages and improve the anti-tumor ability of macrophages through TFEB. More importantly, it provides a good therapeutic target for lysosomal storage disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

Professor Lining Zhang's team has been engaged in the research of PDCD4 in inflammation, tumor, autophagy, and metabolic diseases for a long time, and the relevant achievements have been published in molecular psychology, autophagy, diabetes, and Cellular & Molecular Immunology. The above research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the key R & D (major scientific and technological innovation project) program of Shandong Province. The data work of laser confocal microscope is strongly supported by the microscopic characterization platform of basic medical college.
