On December 1st, Professor Fan Yi's team published a cover research paper entitled Elevation of JAML promotes diabetic kidneyic by disease modulating podocyte lipid metabolism" (JCR Journal 1, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 5 years IF:24.288). A thematic commentary was issued during the period. Yi Fu, a doctoral student at Shandong University's School of Basic Medicine, and Associate Professor Yu Sun are co-authors. Professor Fan Yi is the corresponding author. Shandong University is the first unit.

Professor Fan Yi's team has been working on the pathogenesis of kidney diseases such as diabetic nephropathy, focusing on regional immunological regulation, glycolipid metabolic steady-state regulation, epigenetic regulation, and immuno-metabolic interactions, to find effective new drug targets. This research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Natural Science Foundation of China's key projects, and the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation's major basic research projects.
