Shandong University Cheeloo College of Medicine, (Faculty of Medicine) has a long history and profound cultural heritage, and its origins can be traced back to 1864. So far, over45,000 medical talents have graduated from Cheeloo College of Medicine who have made important contributions to the field of medicine and health. Cheeloo College of Medicine is made up of 6 colleges, including the School of Basic Medical Sciences, the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Stomatology, the School of Public Health, and the School of Nursing and Rehabilitation. It has 4 directly affiliated hospitals including Qilu Hospital.
School of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) consists of 11 departments and a National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, with more than 130 professors and associate professors, and 557 full-time postgraduates. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 150 national-level scientific research projects, more than 170 provincial-level scientific research projects, including 13 national-level major and key scientific research projects, and 13 ministerial and provincial-level key scientific research projects, and has been funded nearly 200 million RMB. More than 700 SCI papers were published, including a number of high-level academic papers in internationally famous academic journals such as Nature, Cell, and PNAS, etc. which demonstrates the school’s first-class scientific research capabilities. The year 2021 will mark the 120th anniversary of Shandong University. To improve academic exchanges and promote the scientific research level, the 1st International Symposium for Postgraduates on Basic Medical Sciences will be held at Shandong University in late November.

Participants will deliver an academic presentation on basic medical sciences, including anatomy and neurobiology, histology and embryology, physiology and pathophysiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, immunology, pathogenic biology, pathology, pharmacology, genetics, cell biology, medical psychology, and ethics.
The presentation can be a published paper or an introduction to unpublished research progress.
