The latest research results of professor Li Jingxin 's group published in Oncogene
August 9, 2021

Recently, the research group led by Prof. Jingxin Li, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Shandong University, has made a new progress in the field of tumor metabolism(CAS-1.IF:9.867) published in Article form entitled “M6A methylation of DEGS2, a key Ceramide-synthesizing enzyme, Is involved in cancer progression through Ceramide synthesis”.Guo Wei, assistant researcher of Shandong University Qilu Hospital, is the first author of this paper, and Professor Li Jingxin is the corresponding author of this paper. Shandong University is the first author and the only corresponding author.

In recent years, with the rise of RNA epigenetics, the role of m6A methylation modification in the occurrence, progression and metastasis of tumors has attracted more and more attention. Prof. Li Jingxin and Assistant Researcher Wei Guo first found that the neuramide metabolic enzyme DEGS2 is involved in the occurrence, progression and metastasis of colorectal cancer, and its post-transcriptional level is regulated by THE m6A methylated transferase METTL3 and the m6A reading protein YTHDF2.These findings enrich the mechanism of RNA epigenetics in the field of tumor metabolism and provide a new direction for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.

Prof. Li Jingxin 's research group has long been engaged in the research of the mechanism of the occurrence, progression and metastasis of ulcerative colitis and colorectal cancer. His research results have been published in Advanced Science, Nature Communications, Oncogene and other international prestigious journals. The above research was supported by the National Natural Science General Project and the National Natural Science Youth Project.
