Recently, the team of Professor Wang Peihui from the Institute of Advanced Medicine and the team of Professor Gao Chengjiang from the School of Basic Medicine published a paper entitled "SARS-CoV-2 NSP5 and N protein counteract the RIG-I signaling pathway by suppressing the formation of stress granules" in the journal-Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy (Chinese Academy of Sciences, IF=18.187), of Nature. This research found that the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) NSP5 and N proteins inhibited the antiviral immunity mediated by the RIG-I signaling pathway by affecting the formation of stress granules.
