March 15, 2024

On November 3, 2023, the research team, led by Professor Zhaojian Liu from the School of Basic Medical Sciences/Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, published their research findings titled "Regulation of Autophagy by Spliceosome Component Usp39 Contributes to Hepatic Lipid Homeostasis" in Nature Communications, a prestigious journal with a five-year impact factor of 17.0. The study elucidated the significant role played by the splicing factor Usp39 and its associated molecular network in liver lipid metabolism. Donghai Cui, a doctoral student from the School of Basic Medical Sciences, and Zixiang Wang, a postdoctoral student from Qilu Hospital/School of Basic Medical Sciences, served as co-first authors. Additionally, Professor Zhaojian Liu, Associate Professor Xiyu Zhang, and Professor Changshun Shao from Soochow University were listed as co-corresponding authors. It is noteworthy that Shandong University served as both the first and corresponding author for this paper.
