On the afternoon of April 14, the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Shandong University held a virtual meeting with the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Southampton to discuss joint student training programs and collaborative exchanges. Participants included Prof. Amritpal Mudher, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, along with Jiang Kun, Deputy Party Secretary, and Li Chunyang, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences.

During the meeting, representatives from the University of Southampton provided a detailed overview of the curriculum structure and academic progression for its Master’s degree programs, including Big Data Biology, Molecular & Precision Bioscience, Neuroscience, and Cell & Developmental Biology. The two parties then engaged in in-depth discussions on the implementation of the joint training initiatives, reaching a consensus on future collaboration. Additionally, both sides explored potential opportunities for short-term student exchange programs and joint research projects, expressing optimism for expanded cooperation across broader fields.
This meeting marks a new milestone in international partnership between Shandong University and the University of Southampton. By leveraging their complementary academic strengths and shared educational resources, both institutions aim to deepen joint training mechanisms and collaboratively cultivate high-caliber talent.
