Recently, the 6th China Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Collaborative Innovation Platform Conference was held in Beijing. At the conference, it was announced that China has successfully taken the lead in establishing a working group under the Biotechnology Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Simultaneously, a release ceremony was held for two new international standards and five group standards. The five group standards cover core content such as organoid construction and terminology. Among them, Human Polycystic Kidney Disease Organoids (T/CSCB 0036-2025) was initiated by the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Shandong University, in collaboration with multiple units, including Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, Tsinghua University, and Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University. Professor Hu Huili, Vice Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, serves as the chief drafter.
