Research Interests

Professor Yu focuses on the regulatory mechanism of the endocrine system, especially the homeostasis of the pancreatic beta cells and islet circuit. During the last decade, Professor Yu has found the critical role of the the δ-β islet circuit and epigenetics of the δ cells in maintaining the islet homeostasis, elucidated the precise mechanism in regulation of the pancreatic β cell homeostasis by transmembrane signaling and has developed specific approaches to regulate the islet homeostasis by targeting to the phosphorylation network downstream of transmembrane signaling. Professor Yu has published over twenty papers with first or correspondence author in high impact journals, including J Clin Invest, PNAS, Cell Research, eLife, Cell Reports, Diabetologia, J Physiol. and J Biol. Chem. Professor Yu is supported by the NSFC through the Excellent Young Scientist programme.
