1. RESEACH INTERESTS
Lei Li's group is interested in stem cell and development biology. Our main focus is the developmental processes of vascular-haematopoietic system during embryogenesis, such as vasculogenesis, angiogenesis and haematopoiesis, and how these processes are regulated in vivo using zebrafish as the model system. As a first author, Lei Li has published several high-impact papers in the past few years, including Blood, Nature Communications and Human Molecular Genetics. He has also participated in the publishing of several other papers, including Nature Genetics, International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, FEBS journal, FASEB Journal and PLoS ONE.
2. EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS
Lei Li, graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) with a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in June 2013. After a year's postdoc work in the college of life science and technology, HUST, Lei Li joined the laboratories of Professor Roger Patient and Catherine Porcher in the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM, University of Oxford) in January 2015. After four and a half years postdoctoral training in the UK, Lei Li joined the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Shandong University, as a Professor, supervisor of master and PhD student, and was awarded as "Cheeloo Young Scholars" in July 2019.
